    Homecoming & Family Weekend Schedule for Alumni


    Welcome alumni, families, friends, and guests back to campus for Homecoming & Family Weekend! We are excited for you to reconnect with the DeSales community, celebrate Bulldog pride, and experience the traditions that make our campus so special. From alumni gatherings and campus activities to athletic events and family-friendly experiences, we have a weekend full of opportunities to make new memories and celebrate what it means to be part of the DeSales family.

    * To register for the event with a red star, use the main registration form located at the bottom of this page. While registration is not required for all events, we encourage you to indicate which activities you plan to attend so we can better prepare for the weekend. Events without a star click the drop down to register for that event directly.

    Homecoming & Family Weekend Kickoff Reception

    6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. | DeSales University Center, O'Connor Commons

    • There is no cost to attend, but registration is required. 
    • Kick off the weekend at a special reception hosted by the Office of Student Life. Enjoy light hors d'oeuvres and drinks as we celebrate the start of an exciting weekend of events and activities.
    • After the reception, take the opportunity to explore the Lehigh Valley area and discover all that the local community has to offer. From restaurants to shopping, entertainment, and attractions, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy your visit beyond campus.

    Class of 2016 10 Year Reunion

    7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. | McCall's Downtown (formerly Bru Daddy's Brewing), 732 Hamilton St, Allentown, PA 18101

    • Celebrate 10 years since graduation with an evening of reconnecting, reminiscing, and making new memories with fellow Bulldogs. Whether you graduated with the Class of 2016 or shared your DeSales experience with friends from nearby class years, we hope you'll join us to celebrate this milestone reunion.
    • Cost: $25 per person

    Alumni Athletic Games

    10:00 a.m. | DeSales University

    • Former DeSales lacrosse and soccer athletes are invited back to campus to compete in the Alumni Games! Not planning to play? Come out to support the teams, catch up with old friends, and enjoy a great day of Bulldog pride. If you would like to participate in the Alumni Game but did not receive the invitation email, please contact Melissa Ciment at melissa.ciment@desales.edu.
      • Women’s Lacrosse Alumni Game - Alumni vs. Current DeSales University Team - 11 a.m. on Turf Field 2 (Back Field)
      • Men’s Lacrosse Alumni Game - Alumni vs. Current DeSales University Team - 10 a.m. on Turf Field 1 (Game Field)
      • Men’s and Women’s Soccer Alumni Game - 10 a.m. on the Soccer Practice Field (across the street from Gambet Center)

    • Invite Only (Registration for this event can be found via the email or card sent to invitees) 

    Alumni and Friends Tailgate

    12:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. | DeSales University Center Parking Lot

    • Homecoming just wouldn’t be the same without the annual Alumni and Friends Tailgate. Set up your tailgate with fellow classmates, family, and friends to enjoy a festive atmosphere, celebrate the spirit of DeSales, and reconnect with alumni throughout the day.
    • Parking passes for each car are $15, and spots will be assigned based on the decade of your class year or group affiliation. Each parking pass includes a $20 voucher to be used toward a Homecoming and Family Weekend shirt or an item of your choice at the Homecoming Virtual Apparel Store. You must be 21+ to register a vehicle.
    • Please let us know who will be at your tailgate area so we can account for the number of guests in the lot. Guests are free of charge but will still need to receive a wristband at the tailgate lot if they are of age to consume alcohol.

    Varsity Athletic Games *

    All Day | Athletic Fields

    • Cheer on the Bulldogs all day with a full lineup of varsity games across campus.
      • 11:00 a.m. & 2:30 p.m. - Baseball Doubleheader at Weiland Park
      • 12:00 p.m. - Women's Soccer at the Soccer Stadium
      • 1:00 p.m. - Women’s Field Hockey at Turf Fields 
      • 2:00 p.m. - Women's Tennis at the Tennis Courts
      • 3:00 p.m. - Men's Soccer at the Soccer Stadium

    Chemistry Demonstration *

    12:30 p.m. | Hurd Science Center

    • Watch chemistry come to life with a spectacular demonstration presented by DeSales for science students, faculty, and staff. These engaging experiments are sure to entertain curious minds of all ages!
    • Chemistry Demo registration is full. Please email Melissa Ciment at melissa.ciment@DeSales.edu to be added to the waitlist.

    Food Truck Fan Fest *

    1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. | DeSales University Center Parking Lot

    • Get ready for a great lineup of delicious food truck favorites in the DUC parking lot. Grab a bite to eat and get ready to cheer on our Bulldogs as they take the field throughout the day.
    • This year the food trucks include:
      • Let’s Go Coffee 
      • Red Robbin 
      • All Belgium Waffles  
      • Chickie and Pete's (1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.) 

    DSU Mentor Hub *

    1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. | DeSales University Center Parking Lot

    • DSU Mentor Hub invites alumni to share their career experiences to inspire future success. Current DSU Mentors can reconnect with their mentees, while those curious about becoming a mentor can learn how to get involved. Together, we'll celebrate the impact of mentorship and the relationships that continue to shape the DeSales experience. Alumni who register in advance will get a food truck voucher! (While supplies last)

    Frankie’s Fun Zone *

    1:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. | DeSales University Center Field

    • Bring the whole family for an afternoon of fun at Frankie's Fun Zone with our very own pumpkin patch, inflatables, face painting, petting zoo, and more. Plus, enjoy some treats while making memories with family and friends. There's something for all ages!
    • Henna and face painting will be available from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. only.
    Please note: Pumpkins are available on a first-come, first-served basis, regardless of registration. Registration simply helps us get an estimate of attendance so we can plan accordingly.

    Student Life Alumni Soiree & Character U 20th Anniversary Celebration

    2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. | DeSales University Center, O'Connor Commons

    • Join us for the annual Student Life Leadership Soiree, where we’ll reconnect with alumni leaders and celebrate five new inductees onto the Student Life Wall of Fame. This year we will also be celebrating the 20-year anniversary of the Character U and Orientation program. We invite all PACERS, Captains, Mentors and Staff back to Center Valley to celebrate this DeSales University cornerstone program.

    • Gather in Connelly Chapel for a special Alumni Memorial Mass as we remember and honor the lives of alumni who have passed away. Together, we will celebrate their enduring connection to the DeSales community and offer prayers in gratitude for their lives.

    Family and Alumni BBQ

    5:30 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. | DeSales University Center, Conference Room

    • Celebrate the spirit of the DeSales community at our traditional BBQ buffet, featuring classic favorites like hamburgers, chicken sandwiches and all the fixings. Alumni, families, friends, faculty, staff, and students are invited to enjoy delicious food, reconnect with old friends, make new memories, and experience the camaraderie that makes Homecoming and Family Weekend so special.

    6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. | DeSales University Center, O'Connor Commons

    • Reconnect with classmates, reminisce about your DeSales days, and soak in the excitement as campus comes to life for Homecoming & Family Weekend! Class of 1971, be sure to check your mailbox for your invitation to this very special reunion.
    • Cost: $50 per person

    Firework Show

    7:15 p.m. | Across Campus

    • End the night beneath a sky full of color as fireworks light up campus in celebration. A spectacular Homecoming and Family Weekend tradition year after year!
